Lou Beeks

Our keyboard player, Lou Beeks, began taking piano lessons at the age of 12. He also began playing the trombone and the sousaphone in school bands. After highschool, Lou began gigging with local bands, gaining valuable experience. In the mid 1980’s, Lou played with two recording groups: “Instant Funk” and “Fat Larry’s Band”. In the late 1980’s, Lou went on a world-wide tour, funded by the Department of Defense and featuring the “Kissie Darnell Review”. Some of the countries they played in were Japan, Korea, and Greenland. After returning to the U.S., Lou has played with numerous local acts, including New Jersey's famous singer, Grace Little. Lou’s musical influences are Stevie Wonder, Nat “King” Cole, and Art Tatum.
