Michael Truss

Michael Truss is a band director, composer and brass specialist. He has been teaching instrumental music in public schools for over 25 years. He has taught in Long Branch, New Jersey for 9 years and in Philadelphia for 17. For the past 20 years, Mr. Truss has composed music for and established performance ensembles in many of the inner-city public schools in Philadelphia. He has also taught private lessons to mostly brass students for over 20 years, in which time he has aided many trumpet, trombone, tuba and French horn students get accepted into the junior and senior all state bands in Delaware, as well as acceptance into the Cab Calloway School of the Arts. He is now adding performance to his portfolio, and has joined several local bands in hopes to establish himself as a successful trombonist alongside his educational accomplishments.
