After graduating from John Bartram High School, Milton started playing with various jazz big bands, including “Ray Wright's Jasz Lab” and the “Bill Douglas Orchestra”. In his own words, "I draw inspiration from the greats." The virtuosity of Sonny Stilt, the innovative spirit of Wayne Shorter, the soulful expressions of Grover Washington, Jr. all played a part in molding his musical voice.
